KEYSTONE COUNSELLING

Keystone Counselling ServicesI’m Katherine, thank you for stopping by this page.
I’m a qualified counsellor and clinical supervisor working with children and teenagers from 5 to 18 years and adults.
I qualified to work with adults in 2017 and later that year went on to complete my Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People.

In 2021 I completed my Clinical Supervision training working mainly with Children’s and Young Peoples counsellors and school Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).

WHAT CAN I OFFER YOU OR YOUR CHILD?

Keystone Counselling ServicesCounselling for children with therapeutic play (5-11 years) – this therapy is an opportunity for a child to explore emotional issues in a safe, non-judgmental, playful environment. With younger children play forms a large part of their therapy session with lots of fun and engaging options designed to explore their inner world.  Sessions are between 30 and 45 minutes dependent on child, are face to face and cost £65.00. If session is face to face then parents/carers must remain onsite in a comfortable waiting room. **

Counselling for young people (11-18 years) – therapy can be very helpful when you want someone to work alongside you as you explore your thoughts and feelings about lifes challenges. Working through emotional distress is essential to well-being but sometimes we can’t do this on our own or with our friends and family. We often need someone outside of the situation to be able to bring clarity. Counselling for teenagers can be totally talking based or can bring in playfulness and creativity dependent on what you are comfortable with. Sessions are between 40 and 50 minutes dependent on young person, are available face to face, online or by telephone, and cost £55.00. If session is face to face and young person is under 16 then parents/carers must remain onsite in a comfortable waiting room. **

Counselling and therapeutic play for children and young people can bring help and change to children experiencing a wide variety of difficulties, for example:

  • Low self-esteem
  • Bullying
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Anger
  • Depression or low mood
  • Self-harm
  • Experiencing a deeply upsetting event / trauma
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Struggling to learn or concentrate at school
  • At risk of exclusion from school
  • Suffered a loss or bereavement
  • Suffering any kind of abuse
  • Eating or sleeping difficulties
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Isolation
  • Friendship struggles
  • Social anxiety or interaction problems
  • Families going through separation or divorce
  • (This list is not exhaustive)

**Please note that the service is confidential unless I am worried about a child / young person’s safety.

PARENT CONSULTATIONS

Sometimes parents just need a listening ear and some extra support on how to best handle their child’s mental health needs. Often we just don’t feel good enough and need some reassurance. These sessions are available face to face, online or by telephone, and cost £50.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING FOR ADULTS

To help you get through this phase of life, to explore what is happening in your world, unpick it and help you to develop healthy coping strategies for the future. Sessions are 50 minutes, are available face to face, online or by telephone, and cost £50.
